What is a Brake Pipe?
Traditionally, vehicle manufacturers have used rigid steel tubing to transfer brake fluid from the master cylinder to all 4 corners of the vehicle with a short flexible rubber brake hose to make the connection to the calipers. Brake pipes are made from tubing designed for automotive brake systems. The connection between master cylinder, proportioning valves and brake hoses must be carried out by using fittings with the appropriate thread length and must be either single or double flared. The brake pipe is to be supported with a rigid mount at intervals of no more than 300mm. |
